Power Purchase Agreement from Commercial and Legal Perspective

The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a complex component of an energy project that can be used to purchase any type of energy, renewable or non-renewable. Negotiating a bankable PPA is critical if a project is to succeed. A PPA must consider the current regulatory environment, as well as provisions that will close at the price, amount, and risk factors, as the agreement is typically for a 20–30-year period.
